PM'S OFFICE STATEMENT ON REPORT REGARDING BELGIAN CASE

The Prime Minister's Media Adviser today (Thursday), 26.7.2001, released

the

following statement in reponse to reports that the Prime Minister's Office

has hired a lawyer to handle the claim in Belgium:

Decisions relating to the process taking place in Belgium are being made by

the legal system in Israel in consultation and cooperation with other

proffesional bodies.

In the event that steps are taken in the framework of the process and

decisions are made, a formal announcement will be released.
